The Lake

Leyland Mill Fishery is a family owned private member fishery located on the outskirts of St. Helens and Wigan. Nestled away in a tree lined garden behind the family home is the 1.5 acre lake which offers three pegs two of these (pegs 1 & 3) are fitted with heated cabins which makes it a perfect place to fish all year round. The pegs are stoned and nice and clean with wooden jetties so your luggage won't be covered in mud.

The summerhouse on peg one is equipped with a mini oven, toaster, kettle, fridge, radiator, tv + firestick and a dartboard. Three people can fit in peg one.

If you would like to bring the bivvy with you then you can book peg two. This peg has enough room for two people to fish from and can also fit two bivvies (size dependent).

The cabin on peg three has a kettle, toaster and radiator. The peg can accomodate one man or a dad and lad.

The Lake is stocked with over eighty ever growing carp consisting of eight known 20's, the current lake record is Kim at 23lb. The average catch is around 15lb.

Five fish have been added to the lake during November 2024, the smallest being 25lbs, biggest at 32lb 12oz.

All nets, cradles and slings are provided on site to prevent the spread of disease.

While relaxing waiting for the fish to bite you may be entertained by the regular visits from one of the herons or kingfishers.
